Communication Cabinet
PC-BASED MONITORING SYSTEM
The Communication Cabinet, one of HELIOS SYSTEMS latest developments, is a monitoring system for photovoltaic power plants. It is designed to record and visualise measuring data and incident reports of Central Inverters and String Boxes. The monitoring software also allows early failure detection and report by e-mail.
An industrial personal computer with keyboard, mouse and display, a five port LAN switch and a power supply unit (230 VAC / 24 VDC) are included in delivery as well as the appropriate software. To realise communication with String Boxes that only support CAN, the CAN-MUX option is offered.
Current measuring data can either be evaluated and displayed on the integrated PC or on a remote desktop via LAN or internet. A permanent internet connection* can be established by GSM modem (optional), making it easy to send failure reports automatically by e-mail.
The communication cabinet is especially advantageous in combination with String Boxes, because then every single string current and voltage can be monitored separately in front of the parallel connection. Consequently, problems occurring in the photovoltaic array, e.g. examples are triggered fuses, defective photovoltaic modules or modules that are blocked by trees, can be recognised and eliminated timely. Additionally, for long-time evaluation, all data can be recorded on hard disk.
This monitoring system can be operated intuitively. It offers a comprehensive survey of the solar system and therefore makes a strong contribution to cost-effectiveness of your photovoltaic power plant.
